Vincent Heck, CEO

Vincent Heck is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Fin CW, LLC, a financial cloud software firm. His history in the financial software world extends to the company’s creation and its first line of code written in 1987. Vince is passionate about developing national-class software. Initially, he created a Laboratory Software Application distributed to hundreds of hospitals, followed by a Medical Record Application that ran in over 300 hospitals including Cleveland Clinic, OSU, University of Cincinnati, San Francisco General, Cook County, and many more.

Building on his previous successes, Vince developed a financial application that extends back almost 40 years. He has lived the world of Qualified Dollars, assisting professional advisors in guiding their clients through various issues and obstacles over the years, including Grandfather Elections, Lump Sum 5/10 Year Averaging, Multi-Generation IRAs, Roth Conversion Elections (both the 4-year in 1996 and the 2-year in 2010), the “Triple Tax,” numerous changes to the Estate Tax, and the many iterations of RMD calculations. He is passionate about providing advisors with the best analytics. Vince is proud to currently be teamed with Ed Cotney in bringing to the market the newest and most advanced software yet, Break Analytics EPIC! 

Edward W. Cotney, CLO

Edward W. Cotney brings a wealth of expertise and a fresh perspective to tax planning through his role as Co-Founder and Chief Learning Officer at Financial Cloud Works, LLC. With a mission to make tax planning engaging, fun, and accessible, his focus on minimizing taxes and improving lives with purposeful strategies underscores his deep understanding of the complexities involved in wealth management and tax law.

In 2019, Ed began this journey with Vincent Heck to develop a robust cutting-edge software platform which helps professional advisors provide wealth-optimized tax solutions for qualified assets from both income and estate planning perspectives. His certifications in Family Wealth Counseling, Philanthropic Development, and Business Exit Planning offer him a holistic approach which not only addresses tax burdens, but also ensures legacy planning and family harmony.

His authorship of Tax Secrets Made Simple and The Great IRA Tax Grab showcases his ability to break down complex tax strategies into practical advice for families and professional advisors alike. Cotney’s national speaking engagements and commitment to professional education solidify his role as a thought leader in tax planning, asset protection, philanthropy, and business exit strategies.

His overarching goal of achieving “Maximum Wealth Control” reflects his dedication to empowering families with financial education and flexibility to make impactful decisions for their future, their loved ones, and their communities.

Dorrit Ahbel, MD

Dorrit Ahbel, MD, is a member of the Board of Directors for Financial Cloud Works, LLC. With a passion for charitable giving and a lifetime of frugal living, she connected with Ed Cotney to discuss her savings and investments. Her insightful questions while working with Ed inspired his pursuit to create a comprehensive advisory solution for clients like Dorrit – and so began the development of Break Analytics!

Dorrit earned an A.B. degree from Stanford University and a M.D. from Georgetown University. From 1977 to 1986, she completed an internship, residency, and duty assignment with the U.S. Navy. An experienced orthopedic surgeon since 1986, Dorrit has been serving at the VA Medical Center in Sacramento since 2009.

James C. (Archie) DeBoard, Esq.

Archie DeBoard, Esq. is a member of the Board of Directors for Financial Cloud Works, LLC.

Archie earned a J.D. degree from Capital University Law School in May 1977, following a Bachelor of Business Administration from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, in May 1970. Originally from Catlettsburg, Kentucky, he moved to Columbus, Ohio in November 1970 to pursue a legal education. Currently, Archie serves as the President of J.C. DeBoard & Co., L.P.A., a law firm with offices in Ohio and Florida, specializing in Business, Real Estate, and Estate Planning.

Michael Butler, Senior Director

Michael Butler is a member of the Board of Advisors for Financial Cloud Works, LLC. He previously served as president of one of Nationwide Financial’s broker/dealers and as Executive VP at Nationwide, where he worked with financial advisors in the retirement plan, annuity, and mutual fund sectors. With extensive experience in helping financial advisors grow their clients’ qualified assets, Michael is personally invested in ensuring they receive optimal advice on asset utilization – that’s where Break Analytics comes in.

Currently, as Senior Director at Footprint Capital, Michael leads sell-side, buy-side, and capital raise engagements with business owners. He cultivates relationships with clients, prospects, centers of influence, private equity firms, and family offices. His extensive network and outreach skills are often leveraged to enhance traditional access to buyers, sellers, and industry information.
